We were sorry to see Colin Tudge perpetuating the myth that Darwin “had Mendel’s account on his desk, but failed to cut the pages” (Newsletter 46), for which there is not a shred of evidence. It would be an interesting exercise in the theory of rumours to discover where this one originated.
