General Secretary

Betty Nixon was appointed General Secretary to the Institute in January this year. Although born in Wales she has lived in London for the past 45 years and is in fact a Freeman of the City of London. She was educated at St Pauls Girls School Hammersmith and at The Langham College and has held a variety of posts in commerce and administration. Prior to joining the Institute she was, for seven years, General Secretary to another educational charity based in Wandsworth where she has lived for the past thirty years. Married with three adult daughters Betty has many outside interests.
