Grants and awards
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and its financial effects, we have decided, with regret, to suspend our grants and awards for Conferences and Workshops as well as our Postdoctoral Travel Grant until the end of 2020.
The Galton Institute offers small grants up to £1,000 to help meet the cost of conferences or workshops relevant to the Institute’s aims.
The Galton Institute also offers grants up to £15,000 p.a. from the Galton Institute Artemis Trust for projects relating to fertility choices or reproductive and sexual health.
Further to these grants, the Galton Institute provides Junior Travel Scholarship support of £500 towards each of three travel bursaries for suitable PhD students every year; these are organised and administered by the Genetics Society.
In 2016 the Galton Institute introduced a Postdoctoral Travel Grant available to outstanding postdoctoral researchers working in the field of genetics.
In 2016 the Galton Institute also awarded essay prizes for best essays written by A-level students on Gregor Mendel.
